Professor Majid Ali MBChB, MSc(Surgery), FRCS (Gla), FRCSE
Professor Ali obtained his MSc degree in Surgery from the University of Glasgow. He received his higher surgical training in advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery, working in units with high volumes of such procedures.
He is currently the lead Bariatric Consultant Surgeon in Ayrshire and Arran.
Professor Ali is a member of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgeons, the Severe and Complicated Obesity Treatment Service, the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society and the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland.
His interests include the treatment of severe and complicated obesity, advanced laparoscopic surgery, the laparoscopic treatment of reflux, hiatus hernia, groin and incisional hernia, gall bladder and general endoscopy.
Professor Ali performs Gastric Balloon, Gastric Sleeve, Roux En Y Bypass and the Mini Gastric Bypass procedures for the National Obesity Surgery Centre.
